    Consumer Fireworks Regulations


    Specifically Permitted

    Items that comply with regulations of the CPSC, DOT definitions and trick noisemakers

    Specifically Prohibited

    Manufacture, possession, sale or use of “illegal ground salutes,” fireworks containing more than 2 grains of explosive composition; any mail-order fireworks.

    Selling Period

    June 20-July 10 and December 15-January 2. Sales from tents or motor vehicles are prohibited.

    Age of Purchase

    16 years, unless accompanied by adult.

  • Alaska

    Consumer Fireworks Regulations


    Specifically Permitted

    Roman candles, skyrockets, helicopter rockets, cylindrical and cone fountains, wheels, torches, dipped sticks, mines and shells, firecrackers with soft casings, and novelties (size limitations specified).

    Specifically Prohibited

    All fireworks that are not defined as salable consumer fireworks.
